Your First Webhook

This guide walks you through creating your first scheduled webhook step by step.

Prerequisites

  • A RunLater account (sign up at runlater.app/login)
  • A webhook URL to test with (we'll use webhook.site for this example)

Step 1: Get a Test Webhook URL

For testing, visit webhook.site. You'll get a unique URL that captures all incoming requests.

Step 2: Create the Request

  1. In your dashboard, click New Request
  2. Enter a name like "My First Webhook"
  3. Paste your webhook.site URL
  4. Select POST method

Step 3: Configure the Schedule

For a quick test:

  1. Select One-time schedule
  2. Set the time to 2 minutes from now
  3. Leave timezone as your default

Step 4: Add a Request Body

Step 5: Create and Wait

Click Create Request. Watch your webhook.site page – in 2 minutes you'll see the request arrive!

Check the Logs

After execution, go to Logs in your dashboard. You'll see:

  • Request status (success/failed)
  • Response code and body
  • Execution duration
  • Full request/response details
